In 2021, Club Helensvale undertook a total renovation of its reception and gaming room. The project focused on increasing natural light, particularly in the reception area, with high ceilings and extensive use of glazing. A light colour palette was adopted within both the reception and gaming room to create an inviting and relaxed atmosphere. The gaming room also utilised more openings within the club itself to create circulation axes and avoid a 'maze-like' feel. The project adopted a broad range of textured materials including stone, timber, concrete and weatherboard panels, invoking a sense of place and reflecting the club’s Gold Coast ties.
